Pop OS, an Ubuntu based Linux distro by Denver Colorado based hardware manufacturer System76. Some say that it’s just Ubuntu with a different skin. Is it so? What makes people think that?

I think having Ubuntu as base is the main reason behind this conception. Ubuntu is a pretty great distro, nice and popular and very easy to use. But Pop goes a step ahead and makes Ubuntu better.

Right from the start, it offers you 2 versions at a time LTS and a point release. LTS comes with two years of support and point releases come with a support…

As the name suggests this is about my journey of getting into this wonderful world of Linux, it started in August 2018 when I bought an amazing mid-range Android phone Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1. Wait, Android? But it says ‘My Linux Origin Story’, doesn’t it? Hey don’t you know that Android is just heavily modified Linux? Yes it is but that is not the point here.

Actually I am going to sound little boring or off the track here. Apart from calling/texting and internet usage camera is the third most important thing of a smartphone in my use case…

Read anything anywhere about Elementary OS and sure you will come across things like Mac clone or having looks of Mac etc etc. Why is it so? Just because of the dock (or panel or whatever you call it) placed in bottom part? One thing I just want to make clear here that I have no experience of using Mac OS so I can’t compare the performance of these two but experience of using Elementary I have.

Now coming to my experience of Elementary. It is based on Ubuntu LTS so ease of use comes naturally but even after being…

My Choice of OS

OS or Operating system is the very important part of computer system. This is the piece of software which allows us to interact with our computer. When it comes to desktop computers we see Windows and Mac dominating the category but a third option is also there, Linux. Its presence in desktop section is growing day by day.

Ubuntu was my first distro and when I got familiar and comfortable with it I explored dual boot setup. For a fair amount of time I dual booted my laptop with Ubuntu and Linux Mint. There was even…

Linux and terminal sound inseparable. I think there are many people who take a step back when it comes to choose Linux based OS instead of Windows or Mac just because of the fear of the terminal. There are distros which you can use on daily basis without touching the terminal even once. Be it Ubuntu or Pop or Solus and many other distros, these all are terrific choices, they just work ootb and don’t require you to know about the command line.

There is no harm in not using the command line or not knowing the command line. But…

Writing is something that attracts me. Actually it has been attracting me towards itself for a long time. How much power those words contain in themselves, is just magnificent. You may be sitting in your home-office chair or in cafe-chair with a cup of coffee sitting next to you or just lying in your cozy bed but if you are reading something and it is right thing then you are not there, you are in the world of those written or printed words in front of you.

When it comes to writing I have so many ideas but just can’t…
